Fans of Park Yoochun were gladly surprised when the JYJ member, who is currently carrying out his public service in place of his military enlistment, released his first solo album ‘How Much Love Do You Have In Your Wallet‘ on January 18th despite having been in the showbiz industry for more than a decade.
The album’s title track, ‘How Much Love You Have In Your Wallet’ is a heartfelt song dedicated to the memory of Park’s father, who passed on in 2012.
Although the song hasn’t been promoted on live music shows, coupled with the fact that the singer is currently carrying out public service, the title track’s release showed domination on various music charts.
The album was also Number 1 on iTunes Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam a day after it was released!

Park apparently planned the album’s release as a gift to fans who had been with him all throughout his career. This is apparent in the song ‘Until The Last Album‘, where the lyrics go:
“Yes, I have all of you guys by my side
There are memories of laughter and tears
I don’t know when and when we can meet
Even then, please smile as you warmly welcome me.”

The album cover was also designed to fit the theme of a wallet, with the use of recycled paper to make it look like a real wallet. Within the folds of the wallet, the CD is placed opposite where you’d normally place your credit cards. In place of the cards were cards with Park’s photos. Pretty cool, we’d say!

The album was released at an apt time when fans need some warmth during the cold winter season, as well as soothing their sore hearts who have been missing him since his enlistment last year in August.
We definitely are looking forward to the day we’ll meet Park Yoochun as an active singer and actor once again!
