Shot before Park Yuchun enlisted, film ‘Lucid Dream’ is in the middle of being worked on currently.
‘Lucid Dream’ stars Go Soo, Sol Kyung-gu, Kang Hye-jung, Park Yuchun, and others; and is receiving a lot of attention since its production stage, as a distinctive work with its material on lucid dreaming. It finished shooting at the end of June last year and had its crank-up before Park Yuchun’s military enlistment.
Park Yuchun had participated in the fantasy-thriller film ‘Lucid Dream’, as his last work before enlisting. He is set to play a role as a hidden character in the movie who helps Go Soo[‘s character], a man who embarks on searching for his son. ‘Lucid Dream’ has NEW(Next Entertainment World) –who hit the jackpot with KBS2 drama ‘Descendants of the Sun’ in the first half of this year– as its film investor & distributor. It is in post-production; its work on the second half [of the movie] in full swing currently, with its opening set in the second half of the year.
A high-ranking official for NEW showed their discreet stance in a phone call with Sports Chosun on the 14th: “There is nothing to be said on the story about Park Yuchun. We are straggling on being unable to mention anything until there is a police announcement about the charges”.
This official explained, “The case is not relevant to the film. ‘Lucid Dream’ is in the middle of being worked on currently. Although we are preparing for its release in the second half of the year, there is no release date yet to be confirmed”.
Also, a representative for ‘Lucid Dream’ side told Herald POP on the 14th: “As there is lucid dreaming as the material in the scenario of ‘Lucid Dream’, there is a lot of CG effects. We are in the middle of working on the second half [of the movie] currently. Its opening date is still undecided,” and, “It appears we should have a discussion internally about the controversy of Park Yuchun-ssi’s sexual assault charges. At present, it is the situation that there’s nothing to the particular story”.
