Broadcasting station & big agencies cannot do ‘power harassment of appearance ban’…’JYJ Bill’ is fruitful, passes through plenary session
‘JYJ Bill(the Broadcasting Act revision)’ –which is another name for the contents that prevents the unfair practices by a broadcaster, in prohibiting broadcasting appearances of a specific person without a justifiable reason– passed through the National Assembly plenary session on November 30.
During all this time, there has been controversy because singers Kim Jaejoong, Park Yuchun, and Kim Junsu –who were active with ‘TVXQ’ under the big agency SM Entertainment– are having their [TV] appearances obstructed by various broadcasting stations’ while being active as JYJ; and that it is not due to the demand of the big agency’s vindictive appearance ban.
Meanwhile JYJ Bill was proposed through the National Assembly’s ‘I am Politics”s bill contest program this April. Assemblywoman Choi Min Hee and Assemblyman Hong Jong Hak held a policy showndown to have their act nominated. Assemblywoman Choi’s JYJ Bill was chosen when it received 1742 votes(79.9%) with netizens’ votes, and beated out Assemblyman Hong’s bill(438 votes, 20.1%).
